Capsule Toys (Gachapon) & Mini Figures
Capsule toy machines sit outside most konbini. Here's what to know before you play.
1. Find a machine
Look for the row of capsule machines (ガチャポン/カプセルトイ) beside the store entrance. Anime collaborations rotate monthly.
2. Check the display
The front panel shows every prize in the current series and the price (¥300-500 typical). Multiple machines may share one series — the full lineup is on each display.
3. Insert coins
Most machines are coin-only (100-yen coins); newer ones accept IC cards (Suica tap). No change machines — buy coins at the register if needed.
4. Turn and collect
Turn the dial, one capsule drops. If you want a specific figure, repeat — or ask staff if the machine sells "last one" guarantees (some series have a final guaranteed capsule).
