Shipping & Receiving Parcels
Konbini double as parcel hubs: send packages (takkyubin/yamato), and pick up online orders from Amazon JP and other shops.
1. Sending a package
Ask for "takkyubin" (ヤマト運輸 / Yamato) at the register. Boxes of various sizes are sold in store. The staff weighs it and prints a label — fill out the waybill form first (name, address, phone).
2. Prices
Roughly ¥1,000-1,900 depending on size and distance. Payment at the register.
3. Receiving parcels
For online orders, the delivery slip includes a 12-digit pickup code (or QR). Go to the designated chain's store, tap "収納代行 / 宅配便受取" on the copy machine, enter the code, and the locker opens with your parcel.
4. Redelivery requests
Missed a delivery? On the "ご不在連絡票" (absence slip), you can specify a konbini pickup instead of home redelivery, then collect it with the barcode.
Tips
- Cash-on-delivery parcels (代金引換) require exact payment at pickup.
- Large parcels won't fit the locker — staff will retrieve them from the back room.
- Yamato is the default at 7-Eleven, Lawson and FamilyMart; post office parcels (ゆうパック) go through Japan Post counters.
